Please join us at the Greenhut Galleries in Portland, Maine on Wednesday, April 24th at 5:45PM to attend a reading and signing with poet Nick Stone. This is a special event to celebrate National Poetry Month in the beautiful Greenhut Galleries and it perfectly matches Nick Stone's stunning poetry. His poetry collection Fragments is about life, family, and the ocean, and is wonderful volume to own for any lover of poetry, or for anyone who loves the sea.
Nick Stone grew up in New Jersey and spent his summers with his grandmother, parents, siblings and extended family on MacMahan Island on the coast of Maine, where he worked one summer at Bath Iron Works as a pipe fitter’s helper. He received his BA, cum laude, from Princeton University, where he majored in English. Boats and the sea have always been fundamental elements of his life.
Greenhut Galleries was established in 1977 by Peggy Greenhut Golden and is Portland, Maine’s oldest year round gallery. Located in the heart of the historic Old Port district, Greenhut Galleries exhibits the work of Maine’s finest contemporary artists. Voted “Best Art Gallery in Portland” by both Down East Magazine and the Maine Sunday Telegram/Portland Press Herald, the gallery is an integral part of the vibrant downtown art scene.
