Join us at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta to attend their free event called Talking Art in Maine, Intimate Conversations with artist Henry Isaacs and historian Dan Kany on Thursday, May 30th from 7-8:30PM. Dan Kany is an art historian, critic, musician and author who has published a book, Travel Notes: Paintings by Henry Isaacs, about his very good friend, painter Henry Isaacs. The book explores Isaac's process, techniques, inspiration and greatest influences. An extensive traveler, Isaacs tells stories about the sometimes-quirky genesis of his paintings. As Kany explains, "Humanism and moral urgency certainly fuel Isaacs' painterly output, but so does his love of painting and culture-that shared community space of people." The event will be hosted by Jane Dahmen, a contemporary realist artist whose recent landscapes explore the forests and coastal regions of mid coast Maine. You will be able to purchase copies of Travel Notes and have it signed after the event.
