Jane Eyre: An Autobiography is a novel by English writer Charlotte Bront . It was first published under the pen name "Currer Bell." Primarily of the Bildungsroman genre, Jane Eyre follows the emotions and experiences of its eponymous heroine, including her growth to adulthood and her love for Mr. Rochester, the Byronic, master of fictitious Thornfield Hall. Its actions focus on the gradual unfolding of Jane's moral and spiritual sensibility.
This book is the definition of bittersweet. It will make you laugh out loud and then make you ugly cry. It's an epistolary novel that deals with grief, love, family, and friendship. I absolutely love it. For those who loved "Where'd You Go Bernadette" and "Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine."
